As for graphics, these feel like PS3 graphics sort of like later PS3 graphics, but still feel a bit dated. I mean even if they just had 2 or 3 more songs that were interactive, imagine if they did that for Everything in It's Right Place, National Anthem, or Knives Out. Like the exploration and museum stuff was interesting and seeing the different Radiohead artpieces and creations of Donwood and Yorke as interesting, but the interactive songs were just such a major highlight that blew away every other part of the game. I feel like my biggest complaints are the visuals and lack of more interactive music pieces. Its also relatively short and can be finished in about 1 hour tops, even with full exploration. Unfortunately those 4 songs are the only 4 songs that really have interactive visuals, the other songs you encounter in this game sort of just play in the background as you explore. There is also a set piece where you chase a strawberry through a trippy tunnel to Like Spinning Plates. The highlight of this would have to be an interactive visual piece where you go into a room and three Radiohead songs play to interactive visuals, the songs How to Disappear Completely, Pyramid Song, and You and Whose Army?, it feels like your in some trippy Microsoft screensaver and it definitely is an amazing experience especially with headphones, and with VR I feel like that would even be further enhanced. Kid A Mnesia is pretty much a walking simulator where you go into different rooms in a somewhat maze-like building and encounter different Radiohead artwork and references, its kind of hard to explain, its like walking through a Radiohead themed museum kind of and different songs from Kid A and Amnesiac play in the different parts of the museum. Kid A and Amnesiac both are among Radioheads most innovative albums and have aged very well, and with their reissues, Radiohead decided to put out a free video game to coincide with the release. This is such a revolutionary and groundbreaking concept that I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes the future of the struggling music industry, interactive games that celebrate the music of a band and use artwork and music from the band. This was an amazing project that (I hope) will pioneer a new era for music presentation Also the small room you can find where you can watch a Radiohead live performance was very charming. Like being trapped in an apple like box with Pyramid Song playing in the background, when the box opens and the weird creatures all strart going crazy around you while You and Whose Army starts. while this is a completely open and free map you can roam around, there are also weird presentations you can see. Probably my favorite moment being stepping into the gigantic triangle and seeing this weird goat-like creature wandering the room. So many memorable places and striking imagery everywhere. Ever since playing this I can't stop asociating the songs with the amazing things presented in the experience. Every room is memorable and does something special with the songs they're tied to. This "game" is actually like a digital museum where anything is possible. Walking around and seeing the weirdest shit ever with Radioheads amazing songs playing in the background truly is something special. The idea to make a digital museum for Radioheads songs and art surrounding the albums Kid A and Amnesiac was amazing. This project really is something truly special.

In Forgotten Land you and another player run, float, and fight through 3D levels. Kirby games tend to be perfectly chill and incredibly adorable, and this one is no exception. Kirby and the Forgotten Land Image: HAL Laboratory/Nintendo Where other local co-op games might allow players to wander and do their own thing, this game is all about solving puzzles using each other’s momentum. Play as a Yarny (a living ball of yarn that looks like a small sprite) and solve puzzles with a friend by using your spare yarn to pull, yank, and swing. Sure, couch co-op can also mean getting revived just to get ragdolled across spikes in Spelunky 2. I also love building something together in real time, like a farm in Stardew Valley, or causing communal chaos like with Untitled Goose Game’s treacherous honking. Local multiplayer makes ass-kicking games much more approachable, thanks to friends respawning my character. It’s also my preferred play style, as the last few years have given me more excuses to stay in and try new games. We’ve collected some of our favorite titles that allow for good old-fashioned local play. There’s a lot to love about the Nintendo Switch, not least of which is the abundance of titles with local multiplayer features, making it a great console for game night with friends or a casual play session with a roommate. Navy aboard the USS Engstrom, which was dry-docked in the Philadelphia Naval Yard while the Eldridge was, both ships did have classified devices on board. So what really happened aboard the USS Eldridge that day?Īccording to Edward Dudgeon, who served in the U.S. Inexplicably, two ONR officers had 127 copies of the annotated text printed and privately distributed by the military contractor Varo Manufacturing, giving wings to Allende's story long after Jessup's death. It wasn't until 1980 that proof of Allende's forgery was made available. The annotations were designed to look like they were written by three different authors - one maybe extraterrestrial? According to Vallee's article for the Journal of Scientific Exploration, Jessup became obsessed with Allende's revelations, and the disturbed researcher took his own life in 1959. government to make breakthroughs in unified field theory. Jessup was then contacted by the Navy's Office of Naval Research, which had received a package containing Jessup's book with annotations claiming that extraterrestrial technology allowed the U.S. 28, 1943.Īllende claimed that he saw the Eldridge disappear from the Philadelphia Naval Yard, and he further insisted that the United States military had conducted what he called the Philadelphia Experiment - and was trying to cover it up. In fact, Allende claimed to have been taught by Einstein himself and could prove the unified field theory based on events he witnessed on Oct. In the 1950s, unified field theory, which has never been proven, attempted to merge Albert Einstein's general theory of relativity with electromagnetism. Jessup apparently included text about unified field theory because this is what Allende latched onto for his correspondences. Jessup, author of the book, “The Case for the UFO,” in which he argued that unidentified flying objects merit further study. In 1956, Allende sent a series of letters to Morris K. Allen, who went by the pseudonym, Carlos Miguel Allende. Vallee theorized that deep-seated imagery is key to planting a hoax into the minds of the masses and of the educated public.īut before we break down what really happened that day, let's talk about the man behind the myth: Carl M. In a 1994 article for the Journal of Scientific Exploration, Jacques F. Which is actually a convincing reason why the Eldridge's story gained so much momentum. Moinuddin Qureshi is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. If time permits, I will also briefly discuss the hardware aspect of designing quantum computers, including cryogenic processor and cryogenic memory system. We perform our evaluations on real quantum machines from IBM and demonstrate significant improvement in the overall system reliability. Our third work (MICRO 2019) looks at exploiting the state-dependent bias in measurement errors (state 1 is more error prone than state 0) and dynamically flips the state of the qubit to perform the measurement in the stronger state. Our second work (MICRO 2019) looks at executing different versions of the programs each crafted to cause diverse mistakes so that the machine becomes less vulnerable to correlated errors. Our first work (ASPLOS 2019) exploits the variability in the error rates of qubits to steer more operations towards qubits with lower error rates and avoid qubits that are error-prone. In this talk, I will discuss some of our recent work that aims to improve the reliability of NISQ computers by developing software techniques to mitigate the hardware errors. Such machines are operated in the Noisy Intermediate Scale Quantum (NISQ) mode of computing where the output of the machine can be erroneous. While quantum computers with few dozens of qubits have been demonstrated, these machines suffer from high rate of gate errors. Quantum computing promises exponential speedups for an important class of problems. Depending on the wing loading and wing chords it’s also quite likely that the CL’s at 200,000 will be closer to 0.15-0.2(for RC gliders), where the SD7037 is actually better. However as the Re’s climb to 200,000 and above the drag advantage of the MA409 occurs over a lower range of CL – approx 0.7-0.9. This is largely due to the lower thickness of the MA409 at 6.7% compared to the SD7037 at around 9.2% even though the MA409 has more camber at 3.3% than the 3% approx of the SD7037. You were correct as Yak has admitted in finding that the MA409 did not compare all that badly to the SD7037 up to Re100,000. Thus I would like to add some comments on the airfoils comparison approach applicable to RC gliders I must admit I'm a bit of an airfoil enthusiast and particularly with RC Gliders. What is the Re range in which you operate? If you are interested in exact figures then I can supply this information. I am not sure how these figures compare to more modern free-flight sections but it seems to be a useful airfoil covering a wide range of Re 40k-300k. These are the worst case figures for the airfoil, at CL of 0.73 at both Re=60000 the L/D is >45.625. I am reading these direct from a relatively small graph but have tried to be as accurate as possible. At CL=0 and RE=40000 the drag figure worsens to approximately 0.022. At a Reynolds number of 40000 it appears to have a L/D at near the stall of approximately 33.33 CL=1.0, L/D = 34.09 CL=0.75, L/D of 22.22 CL=0.4 and L/D of 11.76 at CL=0.02. The airfoil is in the F1C category and had the lowest drag at zero lift of all the contemporary sections then tested. The data I was looking at was in a 15 year old UK magazine called Quiet Flight International, Issue 18 December/January 1996. Would I be right in assuming that the performance of the MA409 may suffer relatively to other airfoils, if flying inverted? If this is the case then maybe this could be used to advantage in a duration contest when you need to rapidly descend to land exactly after 10 minutes? Does the MA409 perform better than expected because it is only 6.69% thickness with a camber of 3.33%?Īpologies for the length of this first post and please point out if I am making any fundamental errors in my assumptions. I appreciate that the other 2 airfoils mentioned are capable of working at higher lift coefficients than MA409 so perhaps this is not a completely fair comparison. If penetration is being defined as the ability to move fast at low lift coefficients, with low drag then the MA409 appears to meet this criteria. The SD6060 has slightly lower drag only at a Reynolds number of 200000, at lift coefficients between 0.0 and 0.2. The MA409 drag is also equal or lower than that of SD6060 (a slope-racing section!) at lift-coefficients between 0.0 and 0.6 for Reynold numbers of 45000, 60000,100000. The MA409 drag at lift coefficients between 0.0 and 0.6 appears to be equal or lower than that of SD7037 (F3J Thermal soarer) for Reynold numbers ranging from 45000 - 300000!Ģ. Looking at the graph of Cl v Cd for the MA409 and comparing this with other airfoils the following conclusion can be drawn:ġ. " I am having difficulty reconciling this statement with the polars of the MA409 as measured in the low-turbulence UIUC wind tunnel by Michael Selig: Summary of Low Speed Airfoil Data - Volume 1. I have a question regarding undercambered airfoils as follows: It is often stated that undercambered airfoils have poor penetration characteristics including the following by Yak52 on January 11 2011: "Thin, cambered airfoils like MA409 are good for free flight but not found on (modern) RC gliders because they don't have the penetration ability - ie they tend to be draggy at high speed. I am definitely not an expert but have studied and collected articles over the years and wish to increase my knowledge. Unfortunately, this didn't happen and I would now like to take up model aircraft as a hobby. I blame this on watching Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines when I was a child, which made me want to be an aircraft designer. I am new to this, or any other, aerodynamics forum and have an interest in multiple fields ranging from: low Re MAVs, ornithopters, RC gliders and electric flight. Because of this, they’re more ideal for use at home. Although you cannot carry them around like a handheld device, they have a lot of useful features and in many cases offer better range and reception compared to a portable scanner. You can also stream live feeds using a desktop NYPD radio scanner. In addition, you can power them up on car sockets and other electrical outlets so they don’t use up a lot of battery power. Aside from being portable, they’re not vulnerable to power outages. These are very popular among a lot of scanner enthusiasts, and it’s easy to see why. And because they’re free you can try as many as you like until you find one that works. Now there are many apps available, some free and some requiring payment, so you need to check each one to make sure that it’s right for you. If you’d rather stream the feed on your smartphone or tablet, you may do so by downloading an NY police scanner app. Bear in mind again that the quality of the connection depends entirely on your Internet connection, so fast Internet access is recommended. Aside from the live streaming, some websites offer links to their archives as well. Once you find a link you are interested in, click the web player option or select another application and just wait for the feed. Depending on the site, you’ll probably see a link to an NY county dispatch, the NY Highway Patrol and many more. Usually though, websites make it easy for you since there’s a list of the available feeds. By using the Internet you can tune in to these transmissions as if you had a handheld police scanner in New York.įiguring out how to use these devices is very easy, since you just need to go to the site and choose from the various options given. It’s hardly surprising that there are several websites offering access to live feeds coming from New York and that makes it easy for anyone to retrieve these feeds. As long as you have a reliable Internet connection, you’ll be able to listen to the chatter. Any of these devices are capable of streaming the content, the quality totally dependent on your Internet connection. If you want to listen to a live police feed from the NYPD you can do so on your desktop or laptop computer, a mobile device or a scanner radio.
